Yes, they do. Their ability to boost signal depends on one thing: outside signal. Cell phone boosters AMPLIFY outside signal coming in, but it does NOT CREATE signal.

The best booster depends on your need, budget, and outside signal. If you have extremely good outside signal but poor signal inside, then a cheaper booster will work. But let’s say you’re in a rural area with lots of trees outside and far from the cell tower, then you’ll need a stronger booster.

Technically no. A cell phone booster does not work with zero signal. However, because a cell phone booster can reach farther than a cell phone, it may be able to grab signal to bring inside.

For rural areas, go stronger, if possible, the strongest, because it'll have 30-60% more reach to the nearest cell tower. Great for remote areas.

Try unplugging the amplifier and powering it up again. Check the outside antenna that it’s placed in the best location to capture signal. Check the inside antenna to see if it’s connected and broadcasting signal.

It may be two things. You either don’t have enough strong outside signal to boost inside or you may have to re-aim your outdoor antenna in the best location to capture more signal.

Green is good. Yellow is powered down, because the incoming signal is coming in too hot. Repositioning  the outside antenna in a new location should help. Red is oscillation. Put some distance between the inside and outside antennas.
