The Best WiFi Repeater



Hi guys. Raul from Simple WiFi here and today we're gonna continue to tackle of the problem of grabbing a far away signal and sharing that through my home router so my multiple devices can connect.

Now unless you're a networking guru or you understand networking, you already know that you can go through the Ubiquity bullet to do this, but for many that don't understand networking, how to use static IPs and play with the network settings on your computer, we've come up with a great solution so that it's virtually plug and play.


So it's very similar to the Ubiquiti bullet. Instead it's our own simple WiFi version and we've made it truly simple by incorporating our own software in it so that you can just connect directly to your antenna. That can be a directional or omni-directional indoor or outdoor, feed it with Ethernet cable down through a POE, which is a power or Ethernet, which is powering the bullet up on the antenna and you're gonna plug this into your home router. Now this is compatible with just about any router on the market. We sell some on our site, but if you already have a router, we've also got kits for you as well.


So let's talk about what's inside the kit. First off, there's gonna be a simple WiFi bullet and this is unique in the sense that it comes with our own simple WiFi custom software. This allows you to connect to any network and plug it into your router without having to be a networking guru. Anyone, right out of the box, can simply plug this in, go to the URL, find the signal you want, set it liveonce you're connected to that signal and then plug it into your router so that everyone can enjoy the internet.


You're gonna need some cable. In this case it will be Ethernet cable so it's gonna be coming directly out of the bottom of this. Plug it into the POE which is the power or Ethernet and this is sending power up to the bullet and then also connecting to your router and this is what's gonna power the whole system, plus provide the data that the router needs to re-transmit that signal.


Now the antenna configuration is really up to you. We have outdoor options and we're gonna talk about the indoor options and how you can mount these antennas to get a better signal, more coverage, more reach and all the different options that are available to you. Now when it comes to antenna placement, outdoors is really the way you want to go. You want to try to avoid as many obstructions as possible. WiFi is very dependent on line of site and relation. So if you can get your antenna to a very high vantage point, like on top of your roof or maybe a balcony pointing down towards the signal, you're gonna have a much better connection and much better bandwidth.


So I brought some of my outdoor antennas inside today. The first one if going to be our directional panel. So if you're trying to kind of stay under the radar, but still looking for more directionality, very high gain and high reaching, you can sue a 14DBI directional panel. This is 36 degree radiation cones so you're gonna be looking at 36 degree pattern out in front of it. So you want to be pointing right at it. Next is our parabolic grid. This one is 21DBI and we've talked about this in other videos. We have a 24DBI, which is very directional. This one in this case is a 12 degree radiation pattern. So as long as you're looking, you're pointing to that signal source and you're within that 12 degree pattern, you're gonna have signal and it's gonna be fantastic.  Next is our omni directional antenna. This is 15DBI. It's quite large, but the trade off is a lot of coverage in the 360. So this plugs directly into the back of this. The panel will go right to the connector there and the grid comes with a small pigtail.


Okay, for indoor solutions, we need to convert the N type connector on the bullet to an SMA so that it can connect to most of the indoor antennas on the WiFi market. Starting with our smallest up to our largest, we have a 5DBI, a 9DBI, both of them are omni directional. Directional 8DBI panel, 14DBI directional Yagi and 14DBI directional panels. Now all of these can be mounted indoors. They're not as ideal as being outside, but sometimes just can't get out there. I know there's a lot of associations that don't allow this. You're in an apartment and it doesn't have a balcony. If you got a window sill or thin walls, you can get through these using these high gain antennas.
